Ev completed her Physiotherapy Degree at the University of Queensland in 1994. She started her career working in private practice in Brisbane North, then moved to Prince Charles Hospital, broadening her skill base and gaining experience in all areas of Physiotherapy practice, including working with heart and lung transplant patients.

Evelien then travelled and worked in the UK for 5 years, building on her practical experience while also traveling extensively. Evelien settled back on the Sunshine Coast in 2001 and worked at Nambour Hospital, while also following her interest in nutrition and vitamin and mineral supplementation by completing studies in Naturopathy. She also completed her Level 1 & 2 in Clinical Pilates in Melbourne.

In 2003, Evelien along with Miranda Prass started Absolute Body Care in Marcoola, which ran successfully from 2003 until 2011 when the practice was amalgamated with Birtwill Physiotherapy. Evelien is committed to continuing to provide high quality hands on treatment from within the dynamic team at Birtwill Physiotherapy.
